Ride Leader Games

A free Sauce for Zwift mod for group ride leaders: pick a game, set how long it runs, and it scores every rider around you and announces the standings and winners in chat.

The games

Closest to Leader

The lowest average distance from the ride leader wins: the game for keeping a group together.

Draft Master

The lowest average power while staying within 30 m of the leader wins: hide in the draft and hold the wheel.

Torque Near Leader

The highest average crank torque while within 30 m of the leader.

Power and cadence

Average power, cadence challenge (coasting counts against you), max power, max cadence, max torque.

Ride-Ons Received

The most ride-ons received during the round wins.

More for the ride leader

Since the start: any metric tracked over the whole ride, and group totals to send to chat as a summary.
Riders you know: it remembers who rides with you week after week, so you can welcome newcomers and celebrate milestones when you choose.
Announcements: congratulates riders in chat when something happens to them, such as a level-up.
Chat your way: Silent, Review (you approve each message) or Auto, paced so chat isn't flooded. And a bicycle joke between efforts.

Before you start

Sending chat needs Sauce's Game Connection (Sauce ▸ Settings ▸ General, then restart Sauce). Zwift allows one companion connection per rider: if the Zwift Companion app is running, Sauce can't connect, so close the Companion app and restart Sauce (or start Sauce first). Without Game Connection the games still run and show the standings in the window; they just can't post them in chat. Start in Silent mode to see exactly what would be sent.

Install

Install Sauce for Zwift.
Download Ride Leader Games (ride-leader-games-….zip) and unzip it into your Documents\SauceMods folder (with OneDrive, the Documents folder OneDrive keeps), so that SauceMods\ride-leader-games\manifest.json exists.
In Sauce, Settings ▸ Mods: enable Ride Leader Games, then quit Sauce fully and start it again.
Upgrading later: delete the old ride-leader-games folder, unzip the new one in its place, restart Sauce.
